By employing the very latest in visual recognition technology, Areca Design are now able to offer a unique and versatile Augmented Reality solution, enabling businesses and organisations of all types to connect with their customers as never before by bringing the physical and virtual worlds together. The technology was showcased at the recent Resource Efficiency and Waste Management Solutions (RWM) show at the Birmingham NEC this month.
An Augmented Reality (AR) environment was provided by Areca Design for Innovative Safety Systems (ISS), a market leader in vehicle safety solutions. Visitors to the stand used iPADs to utilise the visual recognition technology which automatically launched a portable, virtual presentation about specific products and services. Customer reaction to the stand was enthusiastic, meaning that ISS enjoyed a successful show, with ISS Managing Director Gavin Foley declating it 'the best show yet'.
Augmented Reality works by recognising trigger images which may be in print, physical objects or real world locations, meaning that the applications for AR are essentially limitless. For example, when applied to your latest company brochure or catalogue, your customer is able to use your AR environment to view, research and order products while on the move. AR can even be applied to your existing business stationery or product packaging, making AR a cost effective means of combining your existing marketing mix.
Your customers now rely on their mobile devices like never before and the world of Augmented Reality is only as limited as your imagination.
