Evesham Gets Geared Up To Support The Tour Of Britain Cyclists
If you live or work in the UK, it is highly likely that you will be aware of the country’s largest free-to-spectate sporting event.
The Tour of Britain, demonstrating everything that is wonderfully British, attracted many local onlookers out to the street on Wednesday 10th September, as the cyclists whizzed through our picturesque town of Evesham.
The tour, still currently in progress, is renowned as the UK’s biggest professional cycle race. With the inclusion of eight stages, cyclists will cover a total of over 1,000km during the 9-day contest. From Liverpool to Worcester, Bristol to Exeter, Bath to Brighton and all the destinations in-between… Spectators are have taken to the street, and continue to do so, to cheer on the racers as they make their way across the UK.
No doubt, onlookers have been kept up to date with the latest news about recognized faces such as Sir Bradley Wiggins, Chris Froome and Mark Cavendish. Sir Bradley Wiggins himself was spotted just outside our offices at Areca Design, speedily racing with the team through the town (shown below).
Cycling has been a popular activity for many years! But this two-wheeled pursuit has taken the country by storm recently with a strong focus on environmental efficiency, cost effectiveness and enhanced fitness efforts. The ability to zip through traffic jams on a busy morning commute also seems somewhat of an advantage!
